I Am 73 and Being Active is My Motto in Life

Sharing a snippet from a recent story on Active Ageing on www.seniorexpress.in

People call me James. I am basically from Chennai and have been staying in Hyderabad for a long time. I am 73 years old now and love to lead an active life. I did B.Com and have worked as a Stenographer in many public and private companies. I retired from my job in 2004 but continued to work post retirement. Currently, I am working with ‘Life Circle Senior Services’ which is based in Hyderabad. In terms of age I am the eldest employee there. All my colleagues respect me and my work. I am very thankful to the organization for helping me in leading a productive and dignified life.

Happy Mother's Day

Wising all Mothers a very Happy Mother's Day. A mother is a person who not only brings a child in this world but all nurtures her/him into a healthy human being. No matter who we are and what our age is our mother always play an important role in our life, who guides us and helps us to lead a healthy and active life.

Not only today but always we should be grateful to our mother for what she has done for us. Once again Happy Mother's Day!

Piku: A movie on inter-generational relationship

Enjoyed watching ‘PIKU’, an interesting movie mainly revolving around the inter-generational relation between the father and the daughter character played by Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. The sweet and sour relation between the father and the daughter were beautifully depicted in the movie and in a subtle way the movie also highlighted the concerns which each one had about their own life and about each other.

A positive family relation is a must for the healthy living of both youngsters and elderly for which both generations must well communicate their feelings, fears and concerns with each other. In addition to this, along with healthy interdependence some amount of personal space is also important for a positive living.
